Antibes has two faces, and a classic car lets you enjoy both in a single day. In the old town, the lanes climb from the Cours Masséna and its Provençal market up to the Château Grimaldi, where Picasso painted in the autumn of 1946 and which is now the Picasso Museum. Out on the Cap, it's umbrella pines and high villa walls, with the Boulevard de la Garoupe hugging the water before climbing to the lighthouse. In between, Juan-les-Pins still carries a Jazz Age feel, with its pine grove and sandy beaches.
Port Vauban is the natural landmark for any drive. It is one of the largest marinas in the Mediterranean, watched over by the Fort Carré, a 16th-century star-shaped fort later reworked by Vauban. Along the quay where the biggest yachts moor, a 1970s Mercedes with the top down still turns heads.
For classic car rental in Antibes, the right car depends on your plans. For four people, the Mercedes 350SL R107 (€590 per day) with its rare four-seat layout, or the 1965 Ford Mustang V8 convertible (€790), both automatic. For two, the Triumph TR3 (€490) loves the tight bends of the Cap, and the Mini Moke (€390) is perfect for hopping between the beaches of Juan-les-Pins in summer clothes.

About 15 km, 45 min of driving, half a day with stops
Start at Port Vauban, follow La Salis beach, then take the Boulevard de la Garoupe south. Before reaching Garoupe beach, head up to the plateau: the lighthouse and the Notre-Dame-de-la-Garoupe chapel give one of the widest views on the coast, from the Estérel to the Alps, often still snow-capped in spring. Drop back down to the beach, follow Boulevard Kennedy around the tip of the Cap, then return along the Boulevard du Littoral to Juan-les-Pins. The roads are narrow and lined with walls, so take it slowly. That's the whole point.
Antibes, Biot and Saint-Paul-de-Vence
About 50 km round trip, 1h15 of driving, an easy full day
Leave Antibes on the Biot road (D4). The hilltop village of Biot is known for its bubbled glass and glassblowing workshops, and the Fernand Léger National Museum sits just below it. Carry on through La Colle-sur-Loup to Saint-Paul-de-Vence, with its ramparts and the Fondation Maeght, about 35 minutes from Antibes. Come back via Cagnes-sur-Mer and the seafront to finish facing the Baie des Anges.

- Our cars leave from Nice (48 Route de Canta Galet), about thirty minutes from Antibes. Delivery to your hotel, villa or the marina is quoted on request. At handover we walk you through the car, and it comes with a full tank.
- Best season and hours
- Rentals run from 9am to 8pm. May, June and September bring the best light and quiet roads on the Cap. In mid-July, during Jazz à Juan, Juan-les-Pins gets very busy in the evening, so leave some margin to return the car on time.
- Driving and parking
- Much of old Antibes is pedestrian: leave the car in one of the Port Vauban car parks and explore on foot. On the Cap, the roads are narrow, often without pavements, and popular with cyclists. Stop in the Garoupe beach and lighthouse car parks rather than on the verge.
- Rental conditions
- Drivers must be 25 or over and have held a licence for at least 3 years. A deposit secures the booking, the balance is paid at handover, and the security deposit depends on the car (€4,000 for the 350SL or the TR3, for example). Insurance for two drivers and 150 km per day are included. Please return the car with a full tank.

How long does it take to get from Nice to Antibes?
Around thirty minutes on the A8 outside rush hour, or 45 minutes to an hour along the seafront, which is far more enjoyable in a vintage car.
Is 150 km a day enough around Antibes?
Easily. The Cap loop is about 15 km and the Biot and Saint-Paul-de-Vence circuit around 50 km. Even starting and finishing in Nice, you stay within the allowance.
I don't drive a manual. Which cars can I hire?
The Mercedes 350SL and 450SL, both Ford Mustangs, the Chevrolet Corvette C3 Targa and the Morgan Plus Four are all automatic. Handy in the summer traffic around Juan-les-Pins.
Can I hire a chauffeur-driven wedding car in Antibes?
Yes. The Rolls Royce Corniche and Silver Shadow come with a chauffeur, and a chauffeur option is available on request for other cars. Decoration is also available on request.
What happens if the car breaks down on the Cap?
Call us: breakdown assistance is handled by Sunset Ride, unless the driver is at fault. Our cars are maintained for exactly this kind of drive, but we'd rather you know who to call.
